Culture Passes / Kanopy
Culture PassesMechanicsburg Public Library is excited to partner with the Columbus Museum of Art to offer Culture Passes to our library cardholders! The America-250 Ohio Commission has announced the 4th Grade History Pass – a free pass for every fourth-grade student in Ohio to visit participating history-related museums and sites free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult. Passes are not available for pickup at the Library, but may be printed from our public computers.
Kanopy
Using your Mechanicsburg Public Library card, you can now access Kanopy. With an extensive collection of narrative and documentary films, as well as TV series and kids content, we’re pleased to bring this streaming service to our community. Go to www.kanopy.com/mechanicsburg to get started today. Patrons will receive 15 tickets per month. Checking out items can range from 1-5 tickets, depending on length of running time. The viewing period is 3-21 days, depending on length of running time. Kids content does not require tickets; checking out a 30 day pass will let you access all kids content. Notary Service
Availability of notary service varies during open hours. You're welcome to call ahead to verify if a notary is available. Please bring valid photo identification and unsigned documents. The Library provides notary service at no charge but donations are welcome.
Document Services
Printing and copying are available at .10 for black and white, and .50 for color. Scanning services are available.
Princh Printing Available at Mechanicsburg Public Library
Newspapers
Columbus Dispatch; Urbana Daily Citizen; and USA Today newspapers are available for in-library use. Springfield News-Sun newspapers are available in digital format only on our public computers using the Edge browser.
Online Resources
Get help with research and lifelong learning at the Ohio Web Library http://ohioweblibrary.org/ with reliable, authoritative online information resources including magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, dictionaries, speeches, poems, plays, maps, satellite images of Ohio and more.
Meeting Room
Facilities are available free of charge. Requests for the use of the meeting room will be taken on a first come, first serve basis with a completed and signed application by a representative of the group.
Laminating
Heat lamination is available for: 2.5 x 4.25 sheet (5 mil) 25¢ 9 x 11.5 sheet (3 mil) 50¢ 9 x 11.5 sheet (5 mil) 75¢ 12 x 15 sheet (5 mil) 75¢
Larger items (5 mil) Cost is $1.00 per foot. Please call the library at 937-834-2004 prior to arriving to confirm that materials and staff are available to assist with laminating larger items. Items must be smaller than 25 inches to ensure they can fit into the laminator. Please note that this machine takes time to heat up.
Classroom Collections
Teachers and home educators are invited to request classroom collections. Make requests in person at the library, over the phone, by email with mpl@mechanicsburgohlibrary.org or fill out this website's contact form. You can also use the attached request form. Print this form out, fill in necessary information and return it to the library in person or fax it to us at 937 834-3396.
