Summer Reading

A Universe of Stories!  Summer Reading is celebrated at the Mechanicsburg Public Library for all ages.

Explore the wide expanse of Space at the Mechanicsburg Public Library this summer! One will learn about the constellations, what “Moon Sand” feels like, and enjoy a rocketing magic show. Registration begins May 13th and is open to children ages 5-18. Programs for ages 5-10 are held on Tuesdays from 11-11:45 AM, ages 11-18 are on the 2nd and 4th Mondays from 2-3 with movie nights throughout June and July. All programs are free of charge!

The Adult Summer Reading Program is this June and July. Programs include space app, crafts, movies, bingo, euchre, and trivia.  Come download a space app and see what is in the sky!  We will be having multiple space crafts throughout the Summer Reading Program! Bring your own euchre team or mix it up with new friends to play this classic card game! Bring your friends to play some good old-style bingo!  Guess the answers to the questions at our trivia nights!  Programs are: June 4, 18, 25, July 23, and 30 from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. June 6, 13, 20, 27, July 18, and 25 from 11 am - Noon. The program on July 11 is from 11 am – 1 pm and the programs on June 11 and July 16, are from 5 pm – 7 pm. There is a prize drawing at the end of each week.
